Ruby Hospital in conjunction with BLK MAX Super Specialty Hospital holds free consultations at the cancer and neuro spine medical camp.

Ruby Hospital in conjunction with BLK Max Super Specialty Hospital, India conducted a Cancer and Neuro Spine Medical camp from 13^th – 15^th July 2022.

This was carried out with specialists from BLK Max Super Specialty Hospital, that is; Dr. Chandragouda Dodagoudar – Associate Director; Medical Oncology at BLK Max Super Specialty Hospital and Dr. Rohit Bansil – Senior Consultant, Neuro Surgery & Neuro Spine treatment at the same hospital.

The Medical Camp launched the partnership between Ruby Hospital, Kampala Uganda and BLK Max Super Specialty Hospital, Delhi India, to offer Specialized Treatment Abroad. This was done as a means of paving way to a possibility of having advanced treatment in India for patients that need better management and treatment.

The camp ran for 3 days; two (13^th &15^th July) at the Ruby Hospital premises and one (14^th July) at the Senior Officers Diagnostic Clinic, Lower Mbuya Army barracks. In these three days, over 200 patients were able to consult the Doctors for free and a treatment plan was given by the doctors. All these patients had issues with either Cancer or the back (Neuro Spine).

 

Ruby Hospital is renowned for its diagnostic services with its highly acclaimed Radiology Department that is well equipped with the state-of-the-art machines such as the first and the only 3Tesla MRI in Uganda on top of other advanced imaging equipment such as CT Scan, Ultrasound and X-Ray. These diagnostic machines were of great importance to the doctors because they gave them clear and accurate images and reports for them to diagnose and rule out the patient’s issues with the spine and body cells.

The medical camp attracted doctors from within and across the region who came and took part and not only shared knowledge but also learnt from the visiting doctors. These came together at a Doctor’s Interaction Dinner on the evening of 14^th July 2022 at Fairway Hotel. The dinner was also attended by insurance company executives, Ruby Hospital camp organizing committee and specialists from different hospitals in Uganda.

With the medical camp comes a new service, specialized Treatment Abroad, in New Delhi India. The specialties under this service include kidney transplant, sickle cell treatment, orthopedic surgeries, spine and neuro surgeries and cancer treatment.
